Have you noticed the new Star Wars
trailer? Do you, like Darrell, observe all sorts of blueprint flaws in that
oh-so-medieval lightsaber they exposed?
If you wish for one of your own to
test your supposition, you could stay in anticipation of Disney starts slinging’
them on the shelf for $50 a pop. Or you might bust out the 3D printer (copier)
and get to swing in’ today.
French 3d printing store leFabShop required
to give the innovative Claymore-style saber a turn, so
they planned and printed their own,
piece-by-piece. It still telescopes!
Better yet, they’ve joint the
printable files on Thingiverse, so you can publish one of your personal. A word
of concern, though: you’ll wish for to be pretty common with your printer previous
to diving into this one. With a good 20+ swappable pieces to produce, your printer
will exist churning away for a though.
Is it wonderful? Eh, maybe not. The
clip in the preview was dark and some details were hard to collect. Temporarily,
they put this thing jointly crazy quick. But to build amazing like this
within days of the trailer’s release? 3D printing is wonderful, and the bright
people who make stuff like this are still better.
