Microsoft this sunrise has released an app in favor of
Android smartphone users called Torque
that permits you to shiver your phone in order to execute a voice search, like
to Google’s “OK Google.” The distinction is that in its place of waking up the
app through a standard keyword command, it’s the shaking action that in its
place does the trick. Also similar to Google, Torque will supply a numeral of
“instant answers,” including stuff like details on local flights,
weather , stock prices, nearby restaurants , sports scores plus
more.
Torque itself was in fact released rear in October, other
than at the time was only supported on choose Android smartwatches. The app after
that was activated with a wrist flick. Though, smartwatches are still niche market, hence it makes sense for
Microsoft to enlarge its support to smartphones as well.
The 2.0 release, out now on Google Play, also includes a little
more instant answers, counting flight status reports plus info on local proceedings.
These answers and extra results are motorized by Bing search.
Early testers reported a number of bugs with the first edition
of the app properly responding toward their wrist movements, or detecting their
accent, but in general the app has a respectable 3.9 out of 5 star rating on
the Android app marketplace following some 240+ reviews.
The Torque app was developed via Microsoft Garage, a cluster
exploring, experimenting through releasing cross-platform customer applications.
